Impregnated wound dressings have been found to be more effective at preventing infection and promoting healing than traditional wound dressings. The dressings are made of a mixture of cornstarch and water, which are mixed with a polymer to create a gel-like substance. The dressings are applied to the wound and then covered with a bandage. The dressing is left on for about 24 hours, and then it is removed and a new dressing is put on.
